Windowsill

Also referred to as a stool, the windowsill is the base portion of a window frame adjacent to the base rail of the bottom . The sill is also the platform at the base of the window assembly which extends outward in the window. On the exterior, it is angled downward and occasionally has a groove underneath to channel water away, like a drip cap.
