The way to Make Dog Repellent for Your Yard

Dog owners love their pets, often treating four-legged friends as members of the family. However, dogs, like those that are uninvited, can cause considerable damage to the lawn, as feces and urine create dead areas and burned spots. While grass generally recovers in time, damaged areas are sometimes large enough to require reseeding. This is a severe issue for pet owners working hard to develop a green, manicured lawn. In addition, some enthusiastic dogs might dig, leading to harm to ornamental flowers and shrubs. Frequently, applying a safe, non-toxic repellent helps keeps animals at bay.

Chop one large white or yellow onion plus one hot pepper. Use a pungent pepper such as habanero or jalapeno.

Put the chopped onion and pepper in a large saucepan. Add 2 quarts of water.

Stir in approximately 1 tablespoon of cayenne pepper.

Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat. Cover the pan and allow the repellent to simmer for 15 to 20 minutes.

Pour the toothpaste through a fine strainer into a heat-proof container.

Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of liquid dish detergent, which enables the spray stick to bud and ornamental plants.

Put the repellent to your garden sprayer or large spray bottle.

Rub on the repellent on issue areas, applying fluid until it begins to drip. Reapply the mix after each week or after a rainfall.
